Things I Love Tuesday

Cinnamon
Actually, I consider anything cinnamon as comfort food. There’s just something so irresistable with this flavor. My current favorite cinnamon food is Cinnamon Swirl from Starbucks (pictured). It’s one of my simple luxuries, and it’s worth every penny. Best with coffee, of course (Caramel Macchiato being a personal favorite of mine).

Pocket Watches
Pocket watches are classy, elegant, and very useful…what’s not to love? Although these days, they’re not really housed in pockets anymore, but grace their owner’s necks. I love these inexpensive but still pretty pocket watches that I keep seeing in bazaars and shops, especially the bronzy, vintage-y ones. I recently bought a mini pocket watch necklace; it’s simple, but it’s a nice touch to perk up a boring outfit. I have another big (standard-sized) one given (reluctantly) to me by my boyfriend (he said it was given to him by his dad). Here they are:

Lockets
Before I fell in love with pocket watches, I had a thing for lockets. Heart-shaped lockets, to be particular. But now, I’m also into other shapes and designs. The last photo is particularly interesting–it’s so beautifully steampunk!

Felt Art
I got interested into felt art two years ago after joining a kawaii forum, but only started making some stuff early last year. It started with one felt watermelon brooch that I can use for my plain blouses and shirts and cloth bags (first picture). Then came phone charms, bag charms, and more brooches. It involved a lot of trial and error creations, and it took me quite some time to “master” sewing everything by hand. I didn’t know some good stores for supplies until recently. Now, I’m experimenting with iPods, gingerbread men, more fruits, cookies, and cakes.

simplejoys
A local shop called simplejoys always catches my attention with their whimsical trinkets, elegant and classy accessories, and nice scrapbooking materials. Whenever I pass by or go inside their stores, I am flooded by creative ideas for almost anything—from hair accessories, bag charms, scrapbooks, and jewelry, to interior decorations and design themes for my room (or future house, even).

OOOh! I went to simplejoys before! :) And I absolutely adore cinnamon, especially cinnamon buns, I forgot which one I liked best back there though, I think it’s Red Ribbon :) .

Ahhh that swirl looks good. Actually it looked like CHEESE to me… now i have a serious cheese craving. Yum.

I have to agree that Red Ribbon’s cinnamon bread is awesome, so are their Ube Mamon (my Red Ribbon bread favorite as of now).

I really wanted to buy those lovely items in black at simplejoys, because they look a lot like Anna Sui’s stuff. I’m in love with everything Anna Sui! I admit, simplejoys stuff aren’t really very affordable, but they’re pretty much as close as I can get to Anna Sui stuff.

Now that you mentioned it, it does look like creamy cheese!

I hope you don’t mind if I add you to my blogroll… I was bloghopping and found yours through Elle’s. You have a very nice and inspiring blog!
